The Parable of the Prodigal Son

Jesus told a story about a son who decided he was ready to leave his family home and go make his own way in the world. He demanded his inheritance from his father, and headed out. He squandered his wealth, and found a job feeding pigs and wishing he could eat even what they were eating. When he realized he needed help, he returned to his father who threw a party and celebrated his return.
